Avi Loeb described the work of the UAP Science Advisory Council in a September 14 interview with Space.com. The astrophysicist said the council’s task is to advise the government on investigating unidentified anomalous phenomena through scientific data collection.

The report also discusses a recent private meeting and council members’ interest in examining historical records and new observations. Loeb did not disclose the meeting’s contents. The interview is useful as a public statement of the council’s approach, rather than a release of findings from its private discussions.
