A strange inheritance draws investigators to a family farm outside Astoria, Oregon, in 1925. Eternity at Sea turns that premise into a Call of Cthulhu role-playing adventure with 25 physical documents, nine recorded audio props and an architectural model kit. For the movie fan who wants to step inside the mystery, this gives the next gathering something to investigate, unfold and listen to.

Good to know. This is a role-playing scenario for Call of Cthulhu, not a standalone board game. It is written around six pre-generated investigators and usually takes six to eight hours, with suggestions for shorter play. Save it for a dedicated game night rather than squeezing it between films.

A jack-o’-lantern that opens into miniature Haddonfield is a much more interesting shelf guest than an ordinary pumpkin light. Inside are the Myers House, a hinged hedge and door, micro figures of Michael Myers, Dr. Loomis and Laurie Strode, and a station wagon with moving wheels. The light-up feature adds atmosphere to the display.

Why we like it. Open the pumpkin. Find the Myers House, Michael, Laurie and Loomis inside, plus a tiny rolling station wagon. Haddonfield goes miniature.

Good to know. This is a pre-order. Check the maker’s current shipping estimate before choosing it as a dated gift. Three L736F button batteries are included.
